Hours: 4 hours per week

Salary: £13.50 – £15.00ph depending on experience.
Delivery: Term‑time only plus 4 weeks staff training and planning time (47 weeks in total)
Location: AIM Creekmoor | Creekmoor Youth Centre – Tuesdays 4.30 – 6.30pm AIM Kinson | East Howe Youth Centre – Thursdays 3.30 – 5.30pm
Requirement: Must be able to travel to both sites.
Responsible to: Community Development Coordinator
Purpose: Provide a warm welcome through food, creating simple, nutritious meals that bring families together and support learning through accessible cooking activities at AIMs twice weekly community cafes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve weekly meals that are nutritious, low‑cost and family‑friendly at our two community Cafes.
- Plan simple menus within budget for both Creekmoor and Kinson
- Deliver occasional small cooking sessions for children, young people and families
- Maintain food hygiene standards and allergy‑awareness procedures
- Guide and shadow volunteers, supporting confidence and skill development
- Order, track and safely store ingredients
- Diversify food choices using vegetarian ingredients and creative, low‑cost options that help reduce weekly food pressures for families
- Support an inclusive, welcoming café environment for all ages
- Be actively aware and safeguarding‑aware at all times
- Wash up, clean the kitchen area, and maintain good standards of personal and shared workspace hygiene
- Work collaboratively with the wider café team to ensure smooth delivery
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and training
- Record basic weekly planning on the shared spreadsheet

- Food hygiene and allergy‑awareness training (or willingness to complete AIM provided training)
- Experience working in a community, youth or care setting
