Step 1: Gather Information – think about who you would like to nominate

  • Background and Journey: Share the unique story and circumstances of the volunteer or group.
  • Voluntary Efforts: Highlight the work they have done and continue to do.
  • Impact: Describe the positive difference their efforts have made in our communities.

Step 2: Confirm Eligibility

  • Ensure the volunteer or group is active in Bournemouth, Christchurch, or Poole.
  • Decide on the appropriate category for their nomination.

Step 3: Submit one form for each nominee

  • Focus on the volunteer, not the group or organisation they volunteer for. The judges are interested in what makes the nominee deserve recognition – not the wider organisation.

Submit one nomination per award category.  You can nominate as many people/teams as you wish. If you nominate more than one person/team per category, the nominations will be up against each other.

Once you have decided to make a nomination, please tell the person or team concerned. They will probably be thrilled to find out! They may also want to know more about the awards and what will happen if they are shortlisted or win their category.

CAN are committed to the recognition of volunteering efforts, and this includes promotion via social media and channels such as our website and the media. You may want to discuss this with the nominee to ensure they are comfortable.

All communication about the event will be from CAN to the Nominator.  It is the Nominators responsibility to share the information about the nomination and the ceremony with the individual/group they have nominated
