We are incredibly excited to share a short film celebrating the amazing work of Win on Waste, the winners of the Going Green award at this year’s Voluntary Service Awards.

This film offers a unique glimpse into the heart of Win on Waste, an environmental organisation that has been making a phenomenal impact in our local communities. Win on Waste is a testament to the power of volunteerism. As a small, volunteer-led organisation, their achievements are even more remarkable. The Ambassadors and Volunteers work tirelessly across an incredible 11 sessions per month, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to making a positive difference. They expertly manage collection sessions and welcome thousands of households every year, leaving the local area better than they found it.

In 2024 alone, their efforts have already diverted a staggering 2.5 tonnes of waste away from landfill or council recycling. This incredible feat doesn’t even account for the invaluable knowledge they impart about waste and recycling, empowering countless individuals to make sustainable choices in their daily lives.

What truly sets Win on Waste apart is the dedication of their Ambassadors and volunteers. Working in a number of places, they come together to support each other, live by principles of sustainability, and act as incredible advocates. Many have been with the organisation since before Covid, showcasing their deep commitment and belief in the work they do.

Their work is invaluable, and while we can’t praise them enough, this film goes a long way in showcasing the passion and impact of every single person involved.
