Protecting those who need it most: Safeguarding for charities & community groups
Groups across Dorset support a diverse range of people – from children in after-school clubs to vulnerable adults attending lunch clubs. Despite their differences, they all share a critical responsibility: safeguarding the wellbeing of those they serve.
Building trust and creating a safe space
Safeguarding goes beyond preventing harm. It is about fostering trust, creating a safe environment and being vigilant in identifying potential risks. By implementing strong safeguarding practices, groups can:
- Build stronger relationships with the people they serve by demonstrating a commitment to their safety and well-being.
- Empower staff and volunteers to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns.
- Bring people together to feel connected and supported.
Long-term impact
Safeguarding today ensures a better future. Children protected from abuse grow up to be healthier, more productive adults. By safeguarding vulnerable populations, we break cycles of harm and create positive legacies.
Safeguarding is not just an obligation — it’s a shared commitment to creating a safer, more compassionate world.
