BCHA Learn are inspiring change

Funded by the Rough Sleeping Initiative at BCP, the Inspiring Change project works with people experiencing rough sleeping or in temporary accommodation.

The support provided by the Inspiring Change project will include:

  • Signposting to support services (Housing support, Health & Wellbeing services, foodbanks).
  • Employment related support (Job search, CV writing, Job applications), progression into meaningful occupation.
  • Benefits guidance and support including better off calculations, budgeting and money management.
  • Referrals and introductions to skills and learning opportunities.
  • Tenancy related activities will include sessions that focus on topics such as: understanding tenancies (Rights and Responsibilities), living with & around others, maintenance & Household Cleaning, personal health & hygiene, understanding applying for housing.
  • Personal and social development, practical activities will include sessions that focus on the 4 strands of wellbeing; emotional, social, physical and financial.
  • Creative workshops, focusing on therapeutic practice in art and encouraging other forms of alternative activities.
  • Access to BCHA Learn’s courses and sessions including wellbeing and horticulture at BCHA’s Allotment, digital skills, cooking on a budget and volunteering training.

The project can provide incentives such as foodbank parcels, food vouchers, mobile sim cards to be distributed as a way to support customer engagement, on a case-by-case basis.
