Meet an extraordinary member of our community: John Clode. For over two decades, John has been a true hero to patients in Bournemouth and Poole, quietly dedicating his time and compassion to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, and was a worthy nominee for the Lifetime Contribution Award 2025.

Since January 2002, John has been an indispensable volunteer patient driver. Every week, he provides vital transportation for patients, taking them to the day hospice and essential counselling appointments. But John’s kindness goes beyond just driving. He offers a comforting presence, a listening ear, and meaningful conversation, ensuring patients feel supported and connected during their journey to receive care.

John’s dedication doesn’t stop there. Behind the scenes, he’s an integral part of the eBay team, showcasing his meticulous attention to detail and tireless commitment to the hospice’s mission. From researching donated items to verifying puzzles and organising stamps, John’s careful work directly contributes to vital fundraising efforts, which allows Lewis-Manning Hospice Care to sustain and expand the services they provide to the community.

John’s unwavering commitment, resilience, and quiet humility are an inspiration to us all. His more than two decades of service have set a gold standard for dedication. We invite you to watch and share his story, recognising the incredible power of quiet kindness and unwavering service.
