Celebrating volunteers at Smugglers Cove

A dedicated group of fabulous volunteers from CAN received the star treatment courtesy of Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf.

The 18-hole themed mini-golf course hosted Covid-19 Vaccination Volunteers from CAN after two and a half years supporting NHS Dorset’s Covid-19 vaccination programme.

As part of their celebration, the group tested their skills, smuggling a ball round the tricky rocks, nooks, and waterfalls on the course, steeped in Bournemouth’s rich history.

Amanda Barrie, BCP Council’s Director of Commercial Operations said; “We wanted to show our appreciation for this incredible group of people who have given so much of their time freely to support the local community across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. It’s been amazing to learn just how long they have continued to be involved in supporting the NHS and that many of them volunteer for other local charities too.”

Amy Collins, CAN Volunteering Development Lead, said; “Thank you so much to the Smugglers Cove team for their generosity and support of our volunteers. We wanted to do something fun to celebrate them and this has been amazing.  They had a fabulous time on the course. Our volunteers have a huge variety of talent and experience, but we didn’t realise just how handy they were with a putter!  It’s brought out their competitive spirit and I’m sure that many of our crew will be back for a re-match.”

Yessica Falcon, Resort Information Manager, BCP Council, said: “It was wonderful to meet such inspiring people and great to see them in action on the course indulging in some friendly Smugglers Cove rivalry. Many congratulations to Tony the perfect putter of the group!”
