Encouraging BU Students to consider VCS careers

Published on 7 December, 2023

We’re active advocates for our sector so last week saw us delivering a Graduate Skills Masterclass to students at Bournemouth University. These are a fantastic opportunity for students to gain an insight into industry sectors and the skills that employers are looking for.

Alongside Gillie Lewis from the SUBU, Amy Collins our Volunteering Development Lead and Emma Lee our Partnerships Manager, delivered a workshop to a range of students from across the university encouraging them undertake volunteering whilst studying and to consider the sector as a career path when they have finished studying.

During the session we shared about the amazing work of local charities and community groups, the difference between the public, private and voluntary and community sector and how they could find a variety of volunteering opportunities. As a result we’re helping many students find local volunteering opportunities.
