In a world that often feels fast-paced and self-focused, volunteering offers a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we give our time and energy to others. Whether it’s mentoring youth, supporting a local food bank, or lending skills to a non-profit, volunteering is more than just a good deed—it’s a transformative experience for both the volunteer and the community. Our members have asked us to step up our promotion of the value of volunteering, so expect to see a lot more. As a starter, here’s a short film we’ve made featuring some brilliant volunteers talking openly about their experiences.
We showcased it at the Integrated Care Board (the strategic group that runs the NHS in Dorset). It was well received and sparked conversation about the value of volunteering and the need to work in partnership with local charities and community groups.
For me, volunteering isn’t just about giving, it’s about growing. It enriches lives, strengthens communities, and reminds us that even small acts of kindness can create lasting change. I’m proud to share this 3-minute film with you.
