After decades of dedicated service to the voluntary and community sector, Steve Place, our cherished Senior Advisor, will embark on a well-deserved retirement this June.

Steve has been a cornerstone of support for numerous individuals and organisations, offering his calm demeanour and wealth of knowledge to guide countless groups to success. Many of our members and readers have benefitted from Steve’s expertise and guidance over the years. His steady hand has facilitated the establishment of numerous groups, and his unwavering support has enabled even more to flourish.

In recognition of his contributions, we are organising a farewell lunch in June for well-wishers to bid Steve a fond farewell. Stay tuned for further details as we finalise the arrangements!

As we prepare to bid Bon Voyage to Steve, we also look forward to celebrating his legacy through an exclusive interview. In this interview, Steve will reflect on his remarkable career and share his hopes for the future of the voluntary and community sector.

While Steve’s retirement marks the end of an era, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition as we move forward. We are pleased to announce that we are in the process of recruiting a new VCS Development Lead for our work in the BCP Council area. This individual will join our highly experienced team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the momentum established by Steve.

As we prepare to turn the page to a new chapter, we invite our readers to join us in honouring Steve Place for his decades of dedicated service.
