Volunteer recognition with Room to Reward
Do you have a volunteer that is a ‘Hidden Hero’? You could nominate them for a hotel break.
Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most. Their hotel – and now holiday park! – partners donate their unsold rooms, charities and community groups nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break.
We recently nominated a wonderful volunteer called Janice also known as the ‘cake lady’ who played a vital role as part of the CAN Volunteer Marshals team at the vaccination centre at Kings Park Hospital in Boscombe. Janice was thrilled to receive the award and acknowledged that she was just one of many outstanding volunteers who came together to support their local community during the pandemic. Janice and her husband enjoyed a visit to the Moonfleet Hotel in Weymouth, saying it was much appreciated and the hotel immaculate.
Janice’s heartfelt message reminds us of the importance of recognising and celebrating the extraordinary volunteers who make such a positive impact on their communities.

Christmas volunteering
Do you have any roles available for volunteers on Christmas Day or throughout the festive period? Whether it’s serving meals to people who are rough sleeping, organising a toy drive, offering companionship to older people, or any other meaningful activity, we’d love to know more about them so we can get promoting with you now!
Share your opportunities by visiting https://can100.org/volunteering-hub/advertise-volunteering/ or email contact Liz Soffe at liz.soffe@can100.org
By sharing your volunteer opportunities with us, you’re not only making the Christmas season brighter for those in need but also opening the door for generous individuals looking to give back to the community.
Festive Meals
We understand that many individuals and organisations across our community are hosting Christmas meals, ensuring that no one goes hungry during this special time of year. We’d like to help BCP’s Access to Food Forum compile a list of these locations to share with our community. If you know of any places offering Christmas meals, please add these to the Access to Food Map by 1st December Click Add to the Map to add your offer here
