My name is Emma, and alongside my full-time job at CAN, I am a volunteer School Governor. Volunteering as a school governor is a wonderful and impactful way to give back to your community and is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. School governors play a vital role in shaping the educational experiences and outcomes of children and young people, and their contributions have far-reaching benefits for everyone involved. Here are some reasons why volunteering as a school governor is so important:
Making a difference
Knowing that my efforts directly impact the lives of children and young people is incredibly fulfilling. I love contributing to a positive and nurturing learning environment where students can achieve their full potential.
Supporting educational excellence
I enjoy helping set the strategic direction of the school, ensuring it provides high-quality education for all students. It’s wonderful to see the positive changes that come from our collective efforts.
Bringing diverse perspectives
Working with governors from various backgrounds is enriching. The diversity of experiences and knowledge helps us make well-rounded decisions that benefit the entire school community.
