Christchurch Foodbank+

Community Hero in the Spotlight, August 2026

Christchurch Foodbank+ run a community supper on Wednesday evenings, where the team cook around 96 meals and puddings. Families, older people, homeless people, and working people are all welcome to come together, eat, make friends and overcome isolation.

They run ‘Cooking on a Budget’ workshops, building confidence in shopping and cooking good food and, hopefully, moving forward to not needing the foodbank any longer.

Also on offer from Christchurch Foodbank+

• Community Money Advice team
• Trained Debt advisors and budget coaches
• Housing and homeless team
• Furniture bank
• Summer Fayre
• School holiday food parcels

Tracy, Manager of Christchurch Foodbank+, says, “We are there to bring hope that things will get better, and we are here to support with forms, finances, hardship, love and a listening ear. We are here. Demand has increased and donations have sadly dropped; we are having more and more visitors who are in part-time or full-time work. We are only able to do the work we do in the community thanks to Grants, funding, donations of food and furniture, and financial support. Please help if you can”.
