Anyone who works or volunteers with children, young people, or adults has a responsibility to help keep them safe. This introductory course is designed for volunteers and staff who need a basic understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Explain what safeguarding means
- Identify different types of abuse and neglect
- Recognise signs and symptoms of potential harm
- Understand who might be affected by abuse and neglect
- Know how and who to report concerns to
- Identify a range of safeguarding issues and concerns
- Share experiences and learn from others in similar roles.
