Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Early Help Partnership Project

Children and young people can overcome difficulties if they and their families get the right information, advice and support early enough to make a difference. That’s why we’re part of the Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Early Help Partnership, a new way of working and ethos bringing everyone together to work with and support families when they need it.

What Is Early Help?

Early Help refers to services that support children and families when challenges arise. These services aim to improve outcomes for children and prevent issues from escalating.

We firmly believe that every child deserves the best start in life. However, there are times when families may need some assistance to achieve this. Over the next year, we are partnering with the BCP Council to support the innovative Early Help Transformation program.

Guided by the Marmot principle, which emphasises providing every child with the best possible start, our goal is to strengthen and advocate for organisations across Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole that serve children, young people, and their families.

We will:

  • Help VCS organisations deliver sustainable, high-quality services – Training, advice, policy development, funding support, advocacy, marketing, volunteer recruitment, and networking.
  • Increase volunteer engagement & positive impact – Advertising volunteer opportunities, training for volunteers & volunteer coordinators, volunteer role matching and guidance, Volunteer Fairs, and work with BCP Council Family Hubs to develop volunteering opportunities and projects for young people.
  • Collaborate and improve access to community support and services – through our Information Stations, Early Help Professional Network, ACSS shared data set.
  • Work with communities to identify successes and address support gaps – through our networks and networking events and the development of our ‘because we say so’ focus groups.
  • Ensure the voluntary and community sector is included in discussions and decision-making processes – through our VSC involvement partners.
  • Foster the growth of the Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Early Help Partnership by connecting VCS organisations with local early years settings, schools, health services, and community hubs and promoting a consistent early help approach.

By creating a support network, we aim to build strong communities where everyone thrives.
