Salary: Circa £25,100 per annum, pro rata which equates to £10,175 – depending on experience and qualifications
Location: Dorset, covering West Dorset
Contract/Hours: Part-time (working 15 hours a week) on a fixed term contract for 12 months

A bit about the role

Dorset Parent Training & Education offer evidence-based parenting programmes to families needing additional help to manage their children’s behaviour.

We work with parents/carers across the county to ensure that children and young people have the love, support, and opportunity they need to reach their potential.

The role is home-based with travel required to outreach hubs and families to deliver training sessions in the west of the county. The role is for 15 hours a week which can be flexible but ideally would be over 2 or 3 days and to include Mondays.

 

How you’ll help to create brighter futures

  • Supporting parents to improve the poor long-term prognosis for children with, or at risk of conduct problems
  • Providing a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families
  • Role modelling good practice.
  • Promoting and delivering evidenced based parenting programmes.
  • Offering a multi-agency approach.

 

Let’s talk about you

Ideally you will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Development – Essential
  • Experience of working alongside or liaising with multi-agencies.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and families.
  • Experience of supporting families to manage their Children’s behaviour by using evidence-based parenting strategies.
  • Experience of delivering group sessions.
  • Access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
