CAN’s Wellbeing Collaborative team proudly co-hosted a successful event at Poole Hospital Dome in celebration of National Social Prescription Day. The event aimed to promote the benefits of social prescription and highlight the various services available to support community wellbeing.
Deborah McClure, CAN Pathway Coordinator, provided an excellent opportunity to engage with hospital visitors and staff. The event featured tables where Deborah and her colleagues presented information about their services and the positive impact of social prescription.

The Community Wellbeing project, a motivated and passionate team, showcased its unique services, which support individuals both in the community and during their hospital stay. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about these services and how they can benefit from social prescription.
The event was well attended, with over 70 people enquiring about the services. The response from hospital staff and visitors was overwhelmingly positive. Many outpatient services, including the epilepsy service, research department, and Breast Clinic, expressed interest in the information provided. Additionally, several visitors self-referred to CAN, highlighting the immediate impact and value of social prescription.
Deborah McClure commented, “We were thrilled to share our services with the community. The positive feedback we received was incredibly encouraging, and it was wonderful to see the immediate benefits of social prescription for those who attended.”
