Lewis-Manning Hospice Care supports over 1000 patients and families every year in their homes, online, and at their hubs in Swanage, Wareham, Poole, Wimborne, Christchurch and Bournemouth.
They offer a range of free hospice care services supporting local people to:
• Live well through their illness
• Increase physical and social well-being
• Lessen isolation and loneliness
• Reduce ambulance call-outs, hospital admissions and GP appointments.
They receive 12% funding from the NHS. Therefore, every year they need help raising money to continue providing their services in our communities. Lewis-Manning Hospice Care reviews and develops its services by listening to what its patients want and need, such as merging with Rising Voices Wessex, a Poole-based community choir that supports people living with and beyond cancer.
Noeline Young, Chair of Rising Voices Wessex, said: “Through singing together, Rising Voices has created a supportive community where members find friendship, understanding, support, and encouragement. It’s a pleasure to see so many people having fun and connecting with a group that truly understands what each other are going through.”
