Dorset Goes Wild’s mission is simple: to nurture a lifelong love of nature while supporting the wellbeing of local families and the environment.
They believe that small, regular interactions with the natural world can have a big impact – helping children, families, and the wider community build confidence, curiosity, and respect for the outdoors. Alongside their online work, Dorset Goes WILD have delivered community events such as litter picks, nature walks and fungi foray sessions.
Soon, there will be a wider programme of inclusive, accessible outdoor events for communities across Dorset. Plans include guided nature walks, arts and craft sessions, birdwatching sessions, family-friendly litter picks and seasonal wildlife experiences designed to suit all ages and abilities.
Dorset Goes Wild have a Facebook group, Facebook page and Instagram, where they share seasonal nature ideas, local walks, wildlife identification tips, and a regularly updated monthly guide to ‘WILD’ events/activities happening across the county. By collaborating with like-minded organisations, they help families discover a wide range of nature-based opportunities available to them and how these opportunities can benefit them and aid their wellbeing.
