Self-reflection can be incredibly beneficial. Taking a moment to look inward and ask “What can I do to feel healthier? To be happier, have more energy, feel more relaxed, recharged, and content?” can be a powerful step toward positive change.
Adopting a healthier lifestyle is often the best place to start. With this in mind, CAN’s Trusted Reviewers taster session for Boscombe Connect Day Centre embraced a holistic approach, focusing on physical and emotional well-being. We explored the benefits of nutrition, exercise and time in nature, to promote health and wellness. This session was part of the Trusted Reviewer project in collaboration with The Friendly Food Club and The Parks Foundation.
We were privileged to hold the session in the beautiful surroundings of Boscombe Chine Gardens, a tranquil space filled with exotic plants and providing fresh air, relaxation, and a sense of well-being. This natural setting played a key role in supporting mental and physical health. To keep clients active, a game of mini golf was available, offering a fun and engaging way to exercise after lunch. Meanwhile, a healthy winter soup was nourishing and healing, making it the perfect seasonal meal.
During the session, we explored the importance of healthy eating, discussing the nutritional benefits and medicinal properties of our meal’s ingredients. We aimed to inspire positive lifestyle changes and encourage attendees to develop healthier habits in diet choices, food shopping and meal planning. We also highlighted the significance of daily movement, regular exercise, and maintaining a positive mindset to build the foundation for long-term well-being and happiness.
By making small, mindful changes, we can all take steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life that nurtures body and mind.
