Teapot Drama is a brand new club for adults with Disabilities and/or Learning Differences, and we’re delighted to introduce them to you as our Community Heroes in the Spotlight in October.
We first met Founder Charlie Rose at our Christchurch Network Group, where she made some great connections and is looking forward to ‘exciting times ahead.’
The main focus of Teapot Drama is on acting and performing, and they include the reading and writing of music and poetry in their weekly sessions, which take place at The Old School House (TOSH) in Boscombe.
As Charlie Rose says, “Enthusiasm is more important than experience”. If you’re supporting people with Disabilities who are looking for a new group, encourage them to give Teapot Drama a try! The group are actively seeking new members now, and there’s talk of a Christmas show.

Following the launch event, Charlie said, “Our Teapot Drama Open Day was so much fun! A lovely, relaxed, friendly event. We performed an improvised story of going on a hike, ending up at a pub, but then being visited by a police officer and a detective investigating the vandalising of a tree (shades of Sycamore Gap!). The group really got into it and developed their characters. They were so imaginative and did some great ad-libbing. There was lots of laughter! It was a really uplifting afternoon”.
